évfolyam közötti szakadék áthidalása is. A szülők mostanra megbarátkoztak az oktatás ezen formájával.

A co-teaching projektben részt vevő pedagógusok munkáját a területi pólus 2 szakembere hetente több alkalommal a helyszínen, az osztályteremben, együtt tanítva segíti.

2022. október 5-én délelőtt a területi pólus szakembereinek képzésén vettünk részt Tihange-ban, ahol kisebb csoportokban a pedagógusokkal való hatékony kommunikáció formáiról, a co-teaching elméletéről, illetve a nem átlagos, de integráltan nevelt gyermekek oktatása során alkalmazható kreatív pedagógiai eszközök összeállításáról esett szó. Ezután sajátélményű oktatásban részesültünk a pedagógusok számára kialakított, a tanulók erősségeire építő, fejlesztési célokat szolgáló online platform használatáról. A napot Liege-ben, egy hagyományos belga sörözőben zártuk a házigazdáinkkal együtt elköltött ebéddel, ezután városnéző sétára indultunk, és megmutatták nekünk Liege néhány nevezetességét.

Erasmus+ mobilitásunk negyedik napján, 2022. október 6-án Flémalle-ben, egy speciális tantervű általános- és középiskolában jártunk. Az intézményben összesen 400 gyermek és fiatal tanul, 300-an a középiskolai, kb. 100-an pedig az általános iskolai részben.

Házigazdáink bemutatták a speciális képzés belga rendszerét, ami számunkra meglehetősen bonyolultnak tűnt.

Sok férfi tanárt is láttunk, akik a műszaki, építőipari szakmák elsajátítását segítik.

A szakmai program befejezéseként mi is prezentáltunk a Szakszolgálat működéséről, feladatellátásáról.

During the first week of October 2022, 3 of our colleagues had the opportunity to travel to Belgium on an Erasmus+ mobility with the involvement of a Belgian partner WBE (Wallonie-Bruxelles Enseignement). From 3 to 7 October 2022, Dr. Ágnes Sántha-Malomsoki, Gréta Pinczés and Ágnes Gedő participated in job-shadowing in Liege and in schools in the surrounding cities for a total of 5 days.

Writing the successful application took almost half a year’s work and the preparation of the mobility also required a lot of time but the experience we gained was worth the effort.

On Monday, 3 October 2022, our hosts welcomed us in a training centre in Tihange, where they introduced their organisation as well as its operation. We gained insight into the daily job of professionals from the WBE’s regional poles who main mission is to promote the inclusion of children with special educational needs in mainstream institutions. The role of the territorial poles is similar to that of the Specialised Service, together with an organisation called CPMS, they provide external support to the work in the educational institutions.

On the second day of our Erasmus mobility, 4 October 2022, we visited a primary school in Waremme, where the co-teaching method was launched with the help of the local territorial pole staff a year ago. During our visit, we learned about the theory and practice of co-teaching.

In this school, a large group of 40 students has been formed by the merger of a fourth and a fifth grade class, where two teachers, Annabelle and Stephanie, teach using co-teaching. The teachers enjoy a great deal of methodological freedom, however they are required to teach specific subject content to the pupils within a given time frame. In co-teaching, they can use a wide range of techniques while focusing on the primary aim of creating an inclusive environment in the classroom. Children enjoy learning in this way and it is also easier to bridge the gap between Year 4 and Year 5. Parents are now more comfortable with this form of education.

The teachers involved in the co-teaching project are supported by 2 specialists from the regional pole, who teach together in the classroom several times a week.

On 5 October 2022, in the morning, we participated in a training session organized mainly for the professionals of the territorial pole in Tihange. During the small group discussions we dealt with the forms of effective communication with teachers, the theory of co-teaching and the composition of creative pedagogical tools that can be used in the education of children with non-conventional but integrated education. Then we had a hands-on training on the use of an online platform created for teachers that can be applied for supporting learners’ further development with primary focus on their strengths. We ended our working sessions in Liege in a traditional Belgian pub, where we had dinner with our hosts. Then we went on a sightseeing walk and admired some of Liege’s sights.

On the fourth day of our Erasmus+ mobility, 6 October 2022, we visited Flémalle, a primary and secondary special school. The institution has a total of 400 children and young people, 300 in the secondary school section and around 100 in the primary school section.

Our hosts gave us an introduction to the Belgian system of special education, which seemed rather complicated to us. Pupils are grouped into different types according to the characteristics of their special educational needs and the severity of their difficulties; and then pupils with different types of difficulties are taught in well thought-out phases, starting at the age of 14 and lasting a total of 7 years. The outcome is a profession of choice for the less severely affected, and autonomy in adulthood for the more severely impaired and the less intellectually able.

The duration of the vocational training is much longer than in Hungary, and a wide range of occupations are offered to pupils with mild mental disabilities. Those who complete their training will either find a job in the labour market or work in one of the hundreds of state-subsidised employment institutions.

The school in Flémalle is well equipped, with a beautiful room for assisting learners’ development and a sensory room in the primary school which is used to calm children with autism or tantrums and tantrum overload, with the presence of a supportive adult.

Older children can learn a variety of trades in well-equipped training rooms, preparing for their chosen vocation in small groups at a slow pace.

We also saw a lot of male teachers who help the students learning technical and construction skills. As catering is one of the areas of study at the institute, we had a hearty and varied lunch with our hosts in the part of the building that had been converted into a restaurant.

On the last day of our mobility, 7 October 2022, we first attended a neuropsychological training session in Tihange, organised for the professionals of the regional poles, in order to help them better assist teachers in nurseries and schools. During the break, we were able to try out special glasses that modelled the vision of children with neurological problems.

At the end of the professional programme, we also gave a presentation on the functioning and tasks of the Pedagogical Assistance Services of Fejér County. Our hosts found our conductive educational service particularly interesting. Our school and pre-school psychology service and promotion of particularly talented children/pupil – they really appreciated the need for these services.

We returned home with a wealth of experience after a tiring but extremely successful visit.
